Alves has been sort of a journeyman since he left the club, having played for Juventus, PSG, and Sao Paulo in that time. The Brazilian became the first signing of the Xavi era and has since gone on to some impressive performances since he signed.

While he has a cult following at the club, he may have irked some section of the Blaugrana fanbase by his latest statement. The menacing left-back was asked to mention players that would make his dream team, and they are a surprise omission. He selected Victor Valdez, Puyol, Xavi, and Samuel Eto’o as the best players in the four key positions on a football pitch.

ALVES TALKS MESSI, BARCELONA RETURN

Dani Alves made a surprising return to Barcelona in November 2021. The Brazilian right-back returned to the Spanish La Liga side some days after the club appointed Xavi Hernandez as their new manager. The 38-year-old was a free agent when the Catalan giants pounced on the chance to bring him back to the Nou Camp.

New Barcelona signing Dani Alves has picked his Ballon d'Or winner for this year and it's not long-time friend, Lionel Messi.

Speaking after the Ballon d'Or Award Ceremony held on Monday night via Football London, Dani Alves said that Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen should be given all the awards including the prestigious Ballon d'Or Award. According to him, a message can be sent to everyone that there are things more important than Sports.

Dani Alves had earlier stated that Messi is a worthy recipient of the Ballon d'Or Award with what he achieved this year, but he would have given it to Danish international Eriksen to send a message that life is more important than football.

ALVES REAFFIRMS LOVE FOR BARCELONA

Dani Alves has reaffirmed his love for theCatalan giants Barcelona whom he missed while the Brazilian international was away from the club. According to him, it's an honour and pleasure to return home after a long time.

Ex-Barcelona fullback Dani Alves talked about his love and affection towards the Nou Camp outfit in a chat with the club's official TV channel, BarcaTV. Dani Alves had previously stated that he would be happy to return to the pitch in the colours of Barcelona if the club needs him.
