Alves Backs Juventus to Win the Champions League

Juventus defender Dani Alves reckons that the club are in good condition to win the Champions League this season.

Even though Juventus are looking to win the domestic league title for a sixth consecutive season, they have been unable to win the Champions League. Inside, their last success in the tournament was back in 1996 when the likes of Alessandro del Piero were at the peak of their careers. Several generations of players have since come and gone, but Italian club have been unable to make a difference. The closest that Juventus have come since then is reaching two finals, with the most recent being in the 2014-15 season when they were beaten by Barcelona.

Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has slammed the directors of the club, labelling them “very false and ungrateful.”

The Brazil international left Camp Nou last year on a free transfer move to Turin to play for the Serie A defending champions Juventus. Spanish outfit ABC interviewed him where he spoke badly about the management of Barcelona.

Alves: Difficult to Rule out Barcelona

Almost everyone has written off the hopes of Barcelona getting back into the Champions League after suffering a 4-0 loss against Paris St Germain in the last 16 of the competition. No team in the history of European football has been able to overturn a 4-0 deficit from the first leg.

Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves, though, thinks that if there is any team that can achieve this feat, it may very well be the Catalan club. The Brazilian defender is widely known for his long spell with the Catalan club. He moved to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2008 for a figure of £ 25 million.

Juventus Close In On History In Serie A

Juventus are on the verge of winning a historic sixth Serie A title on the spin. No team in the history of Italian football has won the crown more than five times on the bounce, with Inter Milan the last before I Bianconeri to achieve that feat during the early '00s.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men have been irrepressible in their bid to become the first to win sixth titles on the bounce, adding to their already long list of achievements since their revival under Antonio Conte in 2011 as the dominant force in the country.

Dani Alves Hopes Sevilla Qualify for the Champions League Last 16

Dani Alves is hoping that Sevilla will be able to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League despite a recent defeat against Juventus.

Alves, once of Sevilla, came up against his former club in the colours of Juventus, who have been looking to become successful in the Champions League for more than two decades now.

Genoa shocked Serie A defending champions Juventus, defeating them 3-1 and leaving their stars injured.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone’s son, Giovanni grabbed a brace in the convincing victory over Juve. Defender Leonardo Bonucci and Dani Alves were forced out due to injuries, complicating the situation for the Bianconeri.

Dani Alves Says Tite very Similar to Pep Guardiola

Brazil right back Dani Alves claims that national team boss Tite reminds him of former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola in a number of ways.

Brazil recently appointed the former Corinthians manager, who is widely known as a pragmatic coach unlike those associated with Brazil. However, this pragmatism has brought him a lot of success at club level. It will be his first major job in charge of the Brazilian national team, which has been coming on the back of several disappointments in recent years.

Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has hailed the national team coach of Brazil, Tite.

The Brazilian right back said that the Selecao boss reminded him of Barcelona former coach Pep Guardiola. Since taking over the national team side, Tite has enjoyed enormous success as Brazil’s coach. The coach, who led Corinthians to the club World Cup, has supervised four straight wins for national team, culminating in a 12-1 goal margin and higher hopes of making the 2018 World Cup set for Russia.

Barcelona are reportedly discussing with Valencia with the hope that they can reach an agreement to swap players.

Barcelona are keen on Portuguese full back Cancelo, based on news report from Radio Valencia. Aleix Vidal and Joan Cancelo are the players to be swapped by both sides, particularly as Vidal has struggled to break into the Barca squad since his move from Sevilla last year.
