DANI ALVES REACTS TO LUIS DIAZ'S INJURY NEWS

Dani Alves has sent words of encouragement to Luis Diaz after the Liverpool winger posted on Instagram on Wednesday that ‘I will come back stronger’ following an injury. The 25-year-old is set to be sidelined until after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after sustaining a knee injury during Liverpool’s defeat to Arsenal last Sunday, but no surgery is required, as reported by Sky Sports. Diaz has probably been one of Liverpool’s better players in a pretty average season so far for Jurgen Klopp’s men, so such an injury, and the timing of it, hasn’t helped anyone’s cause.

The Colombian superstar, whose nation didn’t qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, will now target a return after the world’s biggest footballing event. He posted on social media his ‘many thanks’ for the support he has received from fans and he vowed to come back stronger. ABarcelona and Brazil legend Dani Alves posted in the comments section: “Let’s go up, my brother. Many blessings.” whilst the likes of goalkeeper Adrian and Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos also sent their positive vibes to the player.

Whilst Diaz now recovers from his knee injury, his teammates demolished Rangers in the Champions League on Wednesday night at Ibrox. Even though Jurgen Klopp made some changes and arguably played a weaker XI, the Scottish Premiership side were still ripped apart by the likes of Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Mo Salah. Liverpool’s flyer on the right, who started on the bench, came on as a second-half substitute to score a six-minute and 12-second hat-trick, which is an all-time Champions League record – it also left Arsenal legend Thierry Henry stunned.
But this is where they are going to miss Diaz because his all-action style and ability to produce something out of nothing would have been very useful after their showdown with Manchester City on Sunday which they beat the Citizens by a narrow 1-0 scoreline.
