Barcelona can’t afford to offload Daniel Alves

When it comes to scoring goals and being on the spotlight of the media, it’s hard to argue that Messi, Neymar and Suarez are the players that are routinely being named as those are the main superstars of the team who are consistently showcasing their skills in the pitch.

DaniAlves is not such a big name player compared to some of his teammates but the Brazilian defender has been doing an amazing job despite being the oldest player in the entire team of Luis Enrique.

At the age of 33, Daniel Alves continues providing solid coverage as the main right-back of the squad which is fairly impressive, especially taking into consideration the fact that Aleix Vidal was signed to replace Daniel Alves and follow the footsteps that were going to be left after the Brazilian defender retired but it has not happened.

So far, Aleix Vidal has disappointed since having joined Barcelona and Daniel Alves continues to be the undisputed right-back of the Spanish club.

The 33 year old Brazilian right-back was recently rumored to be on his way out of Barcelona as he is linked with a summer move to another club but why would Luis Enrique offload one of his best players and not have anyone who can truly replace him?

Daniel Alves has a contract with Barcelona which extends until 2017 and it can be renewed for an additional year. After penning his contract extension with Barcelona, Daniel Alves wrote on his twitter account: "I have followed my heart and the hearts of those who love me,"

Even though Barcelona has already signed a player with the purpose of replacing DaniAlves, the impact and importance that the Brazilian defender has with Barcelona is far too much for the club to release him and despite all of the rumors that are claiming him to be on the move, it seems highly unlikely that it will happen and if it does, it will be Barcelona that ends up making a big mistake.
