ALVES WANTS PERSPECTIVE

Barcelona defender Dani Alves has said that the club and the players should take responsibility if manager Pep Guardiola leaves the club in the summer.

Guardiola is out of contract with Barcelona at the end of the season. His contract will be coming to an end on June 30, but there seems to be no sign of negotiation. This is because Guardiola has said that he still needs more time to solve his future. There has been speculation that Guardiola is finally thinking that he has achieved everything with Barcelona and wants a new challenge in life. It is thought that Chelsea is one of his destinations after the London club recently sacked manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Now, a replacement has been found for Andre Villas-Boas, as Chelsea have appointed assistant manager Roberto di Matteo on an interim basis, with a new boss coming in in the summer. All this appear to suggest that Guardiola is moving to Chelsea in the summer.

Dani Alves has said that Barcelona and the players are to blame if Guardiola decides to leave the Camp Nou at the end of the season. Barcelona have been extremely disappointing in the domestic campaign this season, as they have struggled for form in many matches. However, they still remain as one of the favourites for the Champions League title.

"Part of the fault would be ours. If he has not done so by now, it is because we are in a key moment of the season. He has everything under control and will wait for the right time. People are rushing to put him under pressure. Thanks to him we have achieved so much. We want him to renew," Dani Alves said in a recent interview on the Barca website.

Dani Alves came to Barcelona just before Guardiola was appointed as the manager, and has been one of the influential members of the squad since then. barcelona remain favourites to win the Champions League this season, with the best European football betting odds being just 2/1 for them to beat off all competitiona dn retain their title.
