BARCA NEED TO FINISH THE JOB

Barcelona defender Dani Alves has said that the club needs to finish the job of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League in the second leg match against Bayern Leverkusen at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona come on the back of a 3-1 lead in the first leg. There have been suggestions that Barcelona will become complacent in the second leg due to the significant advantage they have in the tie. However, Dani Alves has said that it will be a match that will be regarded as one of the most important of the season by Barcelona players.

The Brazilian defender also said that the club needs to finish the job they started in the first leg. The three goals scored against Bayern Leverkusen will be one of the strong points that will make Barcelona feel secure at home.

However, Bayern Leverkusen are easily capable of scoring against Barcelona and also keeping them at bay for long periods as well, as proven in the first leg encounter. Bayern Leverkusen proved to be more than a match for Barcelona during the first half until Barcelona found the opening goal in the 42nd minute. Even though the match may have shifted towards the Catalan giants in the second half, the German club gave a good account of themselves in the first half.

"I think we have an important advantage but we must finish our work at Camp Nou. Winning always helps, it gives you encouragement and spirit. A good quality that we have is that we accept things as they come. We adjusted phenomenally from one competition to another and we’ll fight until the end," Dani Alves was quoted on the official website of Barcelona. The second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League match with Bayern Leverkusen will take place on March 7.
