ALL THE WAY

Dani Alves has said that in the ongoing season, La Liga title race will go all the way down to the wire.

The top 3 sides in the La Liga points table are almost going neck and neck. There hasn’t been much difference between their points’ tally and the outcome of one game can change their positions in the table.

Alves reckons that the side which has to win the league this season will have to play extraordinarily well.

Talking to a TV channel yesterday about close competition in the league, the midfielder said, “It’s a high level tournament and you can win it only by putting up special performances.”
“Currently, three sides are in the race and all of them are strong. Let’s see what happens. As far as we are concerned, we would try being consistent right till the very end and hopefully, would win.”

“We have begun the New Year on a good note, but, we still have a long way to go. A lot of matches are remaining and we need to be at the top of our game in each one of those matches.”

In 2014, Barcelona has played a total of 7 matches and has won 5 of them. The rest two were draws. It clearly shows that they haven’t played poorly at all of late.

The thing which Barcelona has done well this year is that they have won their matches by profound margins and that’s why they are at the first position in the table. Their goal differential +44 is much better than that of their two rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

Atletico’s goal differential is +38, while, that of Real’s is +39. All these 3 teams have to play 17 more games in the league.
